iCarMode: Drive Safe Dashboard App Bewertungen

Tolle App, aber wie bei allen anderen kann man nicht die navi starten die man gerne hätte. In meinem fall IGO. Selbst Navigon select startet nicht. Wenn man wirklich die App auswählen kann die man will.... dann 5 Sterne. Ein besserer Kontrast der Buttons wäre auch nicht schlecht, der Hintergrund ist zu deutlich sichtbar.

Ich habe ein Produkt gesucht, mit dem ich leicht zwischen Navigation und Musikwiedergabe umschalten kann - leicht zu bedienen und einfach in der Darstellung. Ideal ist da m.E. carhome Ultra, das es aber leider nur für Androiden gibt. Diese Produkt ist aus meiner Sicht fast unbrauchbar: Man kann keine beliebigen Freeware Navia Apps wie navfree o.ä. Mit der Schaltfläche GPS verknüpfen - dort befindet sich eine Liste mit TomTom, Navigon und einigen unbrauchbaren Einträgen. Somit ist diese Schaltfläche unbrauchbar. Man kann mit der "frei" belegbaren Taste keine beliebigen Programme (z.B. Tanken App.) verknüpfen - dort befindet sich nur eine Liste mit einigen Internetradioapps und Shazam. Somit ist auch diese Schaltfläche unbrauchbar. Nachdem man eine App durch Anwähle der Schaltfläche gestartet hat, gelangt man von dort nicht zu icarmode zurück, sondern landet auf dem iPad Desktop - von dort muss man die App. Wieder anwählen. Das hat mit Bedienerleixhterung beim Fahren nicht viel zu tun. Alles in allem sehr enttäuschend.

To my surprise there doesn’t seem to be a free trial at the very least. I understand the business model, but don’t understand paying for something before you can see it in full. I DID get a popup offering one, however, it only keeps saying invite code expired.

I have enjoyed using this app and watching it grow to be better, as with all things, things that are worthy of use they only get better and this app has proven to be one of them. With every vehicle in this day and age having dash cams and backup cameras and owners like having an older vehicle without the mentioned devices would be elated to be able to adapt them to this app through an adapter, I use an iPad installed in my dash so I personally be thoroughly satisfied, thank you for sharing this with us.

UPDATED REVIEW: Downgrading to 1 star due to so many freaking ads! I bought this app a few years ago and even with a few issues, I could live with it. With the latest versions, it started to just bombard you with ads to the point where you need to tap to remove, which in turn takes your focus away from the road and onto the app, making it a safety hazard. I understand the premium, subscription based version removes the ads and adds a ton of features, but for someone like me that paid for the app and does not need all the features, this has become unusable due to the ads. All good things do come to an end, sigh… —————————————— Great app but needs to be more configurable. I mainly use this for music while driving. I wish you can configure the default music subscription. It would be cool if tapping music chooses the last playlist I have in Spotify. It currently defaults to Apple Music and it takes a lot of taps to get to a Spotify music, which isn’t great when you're driving. Three stars as I’ve stopped using it as it takes a lot of steps to get to Spotify playlists…

The app seems to be okay however without being able to check out the entire app I will just go my own route.Navi would have been nice to see and interact with, curious if there is music control while on map and if map can be changed or trips recorded.

I’ve had this app for years. It works great in my new and old cars. Love it!

Not a great app

I have been debating getting a new head unit for my newish car so i can use apple car play but I would lose some important safety features. This fits the bill nicely to still be able to access the apps like apple car play without paying a lot to upgrade. The price of the app is very reasonable and the podcast upgrade is totally worth it as well. No monthly subscription bills like the other app I considered. Well done, developer!

I don't use Apple music, but it's the only shortcut to a music app. Need to go through 3 screens to get to Spotify. Not great while driving. Can't figure out how to change app shortcuts. Incessantly prompts for permissions that it wants for features I don't use or need. Uninstalled.

I would love if you could view your maps / music at the same time. This seems like the obvious answer as these are the two most commonly used apps while driving, yet no car play ios app has yet to do it.

When using the Music function with Apple Music, the ‘Previous’ track button when pressed actually moves the music to next track forward, as opposed to backwards. Both Previous and Next track buttons perform same function. Huge bug that needs fixing. Nice improvements of late, but your software QA needs work.

I bought this hoping to have a dashboard view integrated into my phone since I just purchased an older car with no infotainment system. Immediately, the app spams you with a pop up to purchase their podcast extension… no thanks, I use Spotify for that. Speaking of Spotify, it doesn’t operate within the app. The app only serves as a launcher for your music app, your Navi, etc. again, no thanks. I can launch Spotify on my own before I start driving and open maps on my own. Irritating.

Unfortunately my favorite dashboard app isn’t available on iOS and I miss it terribly. This app is okay but the screen is almost impossible to see in sunlight, Pandora doesn’t integrate with the app’s built in player, I can’t figure out how to change the order of the buttons, there is no speed display, I could go on and on. It’s nowhere nearly as good as what I came from. I wish I had thoroughly vetted this app before I spent my money.

This app literally does nothing but overlay your screen. If you have to go to another app, it just opens up the app. No integration within the app itself. Not worth the money

I really like this app, I was looking for something that adds a simple interface to the Apple Music app and this fits the bill. The only thing that I would like that isn’t there is some type of progress bar with track elapsed and total times. Thanks!

I’m an android user and I use Android Auto. I figured this would work just as good but it keeps shutting down my music, google maps and phone freezes. Dosent even work well with Amazon music. Not worth the money defitnatly needs a lot more work.

Will not load all of my music. Not enough player options on screen such as shuffle & repeat. I’d rather it take me to the Apple Music player.

This is an awesome app with fantastic support.

Cool little app that does exactly what I need it too. The interface is simple to use and works well though I admit it does look a little outdated. Developer responds extremely quick to inquiries and that goes a long way. Overall I don't have any hesitations in reccomending this app. Keep up the good work!

YOU need iCarMode. If your phone is on your seat or your console or even your pocket...YOU need iCarMode! Simple in appearance and easy to use and set up. This allows you to see all of what you need while driving on a glance on one app.. Music, phone, maps, contacts and favorites etc. just a big button tap away without the need of focusing in on your home screen and scrolling while looking for each app you want while driving. It even makes finding where you parked easy without having to scroll and it let’s you know if the meter needs fed. Try it. It’s 5 star worthy in my opinion!

I really like this app, especially on my motorcycle. It has big glove friendly buttons and the ability to work in both orientations is extremely useful. The app needs more shortcuts to other apps and the developer is very quick to respond to requests for them and any other needs. Great app.

Guess I missed wherever it said it wouldn’t scale on an iPad mini, just a little screen in the middle. Guess I’ll never know.

I’m an Android convert. One of the things I dislike about iOS is the lack of ability to create triggers. Although I can’t have this app auto launch when my phone connects to my car’s Bluetooth, I really like it. The customization of shortcuts is great. The app programmer responds to email. I’ve asked for the option to change app wallpaper and he was fast to respond.

Need to be able to truly turn off the features, fix compass problem (constantly changing direction) and add screen off setting with Bluetooth or usb loss.

Immediately crashes every time I open it. Reinstalling doesn't help. Neither does restarting my iPhone SE.

App is really the only I could find on the app store as a car dashboard. The shortcuts are pre-baked into the app and you can't select other apps to launch without submitting an enhancement request for the app. The app crashes when trying to move the position of 2 or more shortcuts at a given time so you need to move one shortcut > save > move next shortcut > save > etc. It's tedious. It would be nice if there were other features too (e.g., automatically launch app when connected to my car's Bluetooth, set media volume when connected to app, change brightness when connected to app). I'm guessing some of these requests, if not all of these, are not possible due to iOS being super locked down but they'd be great enhancements nonetheless.

It is frustrating that every time I want to log into this app, I must sign onto iTunes. I'm not sure if this is due to syncing with Apple Music, but it is highly annoying and has prevented me from using the app, until it is fixed.

After downloading it to my Apple iPhone X running the latest IOS the only play I have had is 20 crashes in 20 seconds Waste of money

Great idea but needs work. The music button literally takes ten seconds from the time you hit the button until the music player opens. Continually prompts you for your iTunes password...only asks within the app. I thought Apple did away with thin kind of “fishing” for account access.

Can not get this app to open. It crashes upon opening every time. IOS 11.3

Generally spend a lot of time driving in my car and I don’t like distractions. Some of the dashboard features are quite good such a maps and where did I park. Great stuff. But the integration with music leans something to be desired. I listen to podcasts mostly and the integration options are pretty limited. Also, there is no alerts for incoming messages with the option to read our message and dictate a response. This was a built in feature of Cortana on Windows Phone and it is one of the features I miss the most. Add that and I will bump to 5 stars.

(9-12 update) Developer addressed issue with additional custom buttons. Use it all the time, but one custom button is not enough. Need to be able to read text messages and respond, hands free.

The app looks dated. Does not connect to apple music, which may not be the fault of the developers. Overall not a useful app and certainly not worth the money to buy.

Was very skeptical to pay money for this app , however to my surprise this is really what I was looking . Your music, calls maps, timing for parking meter, where did I park.Android has some really nice apps for the car. So glad to find something for apple, I would like to see more apps, I like that you can preset your favorite phone calls, would like to see voice control, when it happens I give it a five star. By the way it supports several music apps with playlist albums songs, It also supports several gps maps. Open other music apps in short cuts, you change short cuts anytime.

Not enough in this app to be worth it for free. Much less a paid app.

The idea is great, and the price is right. But it doesn't work. Music integration is iTunes only. Other 'integrations'are just a shortcut -same as if you had the app on your home screen. Please deliver on the promise! This app is needed!

Maps does no have a back button. Where did I park takes a long time and keeps blinking. Also icons are very close and small. Parking meter erases the time when you go back and down not have a sound to tell you time is done. Places letters are too small. Developer never answer my email. Useless and not user friendly

This is a great car dock app; the best I've found by far on iOS. As importantly, I wrote the developer with suggestions and the response was very quick and helpful. Keep up the great work!

I love this app, it makes my older, 2008 car feel like a brand new vehicle with all the latest technology. The way it is set-up makes it easy to use in the car without getting distracted. The developer is extremely responsive when I suggested an additional app to integrate into this app.

Lots of crashing, trouble adding contacts, big buttons to open other apps rather than true integration

Looks great, just needs app integrations such as Spotify, Pandora, Waze, etc. Not just opening up a separate app which completely defeats the purpose of a car mode app.

Great ui...Awesome that it has a custom app button....few more tweaks and could be perfect.... Could use few more customization options like ability to choose which music app to use when those default buttons are pressed..ability to add another page of custom buttons....custom background would be nice. App is very stable. By far best car app on app store and looks to be getting better all the time.

This app could have been so great. However, a few issues make it pretty much useless. Music : there's no scrubbing bar, only previous next and play. You can't choose audiobooks unless you did into the advanced search which essentially uses the main music app. GPS : you can launch Waze, and that's awesome, but once it's launched there is no easy to get back to icarmode. So if you want to change music while you are using waze, you can't do that unless you go back to the main music app. Shazam: same here. Once it's launched there's no way to go back to the app without exiting out of Shaman then tapping the icarmode icon on the phone.
